The ULTIMATE Video Production Toolkit for Sales Pros

This morning, I began a mission.

My goal: to create a video that clearly explains why I’ve selected each of the tools in my video production toolkit.

And that’s exactly what I’ve done.

Starting with the webcam built into my laptop (which is completely useless).

Building up to the four pieces of equipment I use on a daily basis.

Four Pieces of Video Equipment

I’ve been making videos for close to a decade now, following a strict rule I’ve set for myself -- "speed and simplicity" in the production process without compromising professionalism.

It’s not an easy line to toe, but it keeps me on track.

Enjoy the video and let me know if you have any questions.

How did you mount your webcam to the tripod? Thanks.

    • Will Franco says:

      Hi Nathan,

The Logitech C920 webcam has a threaded tripod mount. You can use it to mount the webcam to the tripod, or in my case, the ring light.

Will, I’ve always envied your awesome light because my Cowbow Studio 5500k behind an umbrella diffuser leaves a lot to be desired. What model of Manfrotto tripod do you have (I see there are many from $100 to $1500) <<

  • Ricky Smith says:

Interested to find out cost of the recommended kit and your software.

  • Ken Ferguson says:

Thanks Will.. the Prismatic and Manfrotto are in my Amazon cart : )

  • Ken Ferguson says:

Pricing updates (Amazon) for your setup page Will:
    Manfrotto Tripod $79,
Prismatic 14″ Halo Ring Light $199

  • Ken Ferguson says:

Hi Will… small update on the equipment list. Went into my Amazon cart to purchase the Prismatic 14″ Halo light and Manfrotto tripod. The 14″ light is now unavailable and it’s alternative which comes with a stand ($259) or without ($229). One cool thing about the 18″ is that the diffuser isn’t canvas, it’s snap on plastic segments.

  • Will Franco says:

    Thanks for sharing Ken.

Little nugget for you: the Prismatic mount to a light stand. Whereas, the Diva line mount to both a light stand and tripod.

You’ll need a widget like this to adapt the Prismatic to your tripod:

Here’s a great place to learn about Prismatic and Diva ring light lines:

Either line works! We’re recommending the Prismatic 14′ purely because it’s got a smaller footprint than the 18’s.

  • Ken Ferguson says:

I’d rather have the 14″ but they seem to be discontinued unless you have a source??

  • Aaron Vanecek says:

Hola Will, quick question about the Logitech camera, I noticed that Logitech makes a C920 and a C920-C model. It looks like the difference online is just Linux campatibility and maybe the compression features of the videos. Without wasting a lot of your time searching google do you have experience with the difference between these two? I ask because I can easily source the C920 in Costa Rica while it looks like the C920-C will have to be a amazon USA purchase

  • Bob says:

I like the T-Shirt. If any, what are the words below the image?

I hope all is well with you.

    • Will Franco says:

      Hi Bob,

It’s good to hear from you! The T-Shirt is by a company called Religion Clothing. They’re based out of London. Underneath it says “Live Fast” and then has the number 13.
