3 Types of Video Email Message: Personalized, Evergreen, and Automated

Now, evergreen video email messages are, basically, responses to frequently asked questions. Think of them is canned responses. Now, in evergreen video email messages, you don’t want to mention someone’s name, or anything that would give the communication away as not being addressed to the specific individual, or the group of people that you’re sending it to.

Now, automated video email messages are the coolest, in my opinion. Because this is where you start to really leverage the power of automation, to do your job for you, in a way, while you’re sleeping. You can string together a series of Evergreen video email messages– for example, The Seven Deadly Sins of Online Marketing– put them in a follow-up sequence, or set them up in your autoresponder.

A follow-up sequence is just an autoresponder with a little bit more automated intelligence built into it. It’s the difference between something like AWeber and Constant Contact, and then, for example, a system like Infusionsoft, which we use. Which is just a little bit more robust. And then when someone fills out a web form– or after you’ve finished talking to them on the phone– you drop them into that sequence of automated video emails that, then, educates them on your value proposition, or whatever it is that you’re offering them.

So those are the three types of video email message, folks. You’ve got personalized, Evergreen, and automated. So let’s just do a quick recap of what those are. Personalized video emails are intended for an individual or group or a specific time– for example, an event. Evergreen video emails are, basically, reusable video emails. For example, responses to frequently asked questions, canned responses, that you or your assistant or someone in your company, would send to people. And then evergreen video email messages graduate and become automated video email messages, when you string them together in autoresponders or follow-up sequences.
