Imagine Leadership | By XPLANE & Nitin Nohria
A few weeks back, I wrote a post entitled Rich Media Presentation – Effective? You be the Judge. In this post, I mentioned XPLANE and embedded their Did Your Know 4.0 presentation which contains facts and stats about the evolving media landscape, including convergence and technology.
Side note: Founded in 1993 by Dave Gray, XPLANE is an information design consultancy that drives results for many of the world’s leading corporations by clarifying complex business issues through visual collaboration.
I instantly recognized the value of XPLANE’s methodology, and have since bought their Discovery Cards, and the 2 books they sell in their store. While I have yet to read the books, I have used the Cards – they are nothing short of genius. They help you uncover the root of an issue, fast! The genius part is that they also lead you to the solutions! I expect the books to be of the same caliber. Oh and I also added both their blogs to my RSS feed in position 4 of way too many. In other words, I really value what they have to say.
Today, when digging through their old posts looking for gold, I found some. Leadership is a very popular subject, but people rarely define or even provoke thought as to the ultimate destination. The presentation below does just that. I truly believe the global consciousness of humanity is developing and we are about to enter an era where people and companies start to make impact (e.g. social, environmental, etc.). a factor that is equal and eventually more important than revenue. It’s time for us to realize we need to create the change we wish to see in the world. What kind of world do you want to create for your children to live in?
I highly recommend that you take 6 minutes out of your day to watch the thought provoking and inspiring video presentation below. It will take you on a rejuvenating journey into the thoughts that are starting to change the world.
No one person can change the world alone, but one person can plant the seeds of change. Every now and then, I feel it’s important that we take a step back and reassess where we are going. It is all to easy to get caught in the daily minutiae. Where do you want to go? What does your ideal day look like? How do you want to change the world? These are the questions that lead to answers that make us happy and ultimately the world a better place for all.
